May 27, 2021
Kollin Altomare welcomes Kate Hartmann to our team as Director of Interior Design. In her role, she will be leading the efforts to establish and nurture the firm’s Interior Design group and develop long-term relationships. Kate brings to the team over 10 years of hospitality and residential design experience, with a specialization in luxury urban and resort hotels.
"We are excited to have Kate join us to further enhance our client services as the company expands to meet project demands and the growing needs of our clients," stated Michael Kollin, President & CEO. In addition to working closely with clients and owners over the years, she has built relationships with architects, designers, and general contractors, giving her an understanding of the balance required between interior and exterior design.
Before joining Kollin Altomare, Kate worked as senior design associate with Whitespace Interiors in Santa Monica, where she collaborated with Kollin Altomare on several projects including the Four Seasons Hotel – Austin, TX; The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, CA; Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, AZ; Sheraton Los Angeles – San Gabriel, CA; and Orchards Inn in Sedona, CA. Prior to this she worked with a design firm in Florida with a focus on hospitality projects in the U.S. and Caribbean.
With a focus towards fine detailing and interior architecture, Kate takes pride in creating custom interior designs for a variety of brands. She is well versed in all aspects of interior design including design development, furniture selections, finish specifications, construction documents, construction management, and installation. Her expertise includes hospitality design packages for new construction, renovations, brand conversions, historic conversions, and prototypes.
Kate received her Bachelor of Interior Design from the International Academy of Design and Technology, Santa Monica. Originally from the Gulf coast of Florida, Kate grew up inspired by coastal, classic luxury infused with a touch of her mother's bohemian spirit. An instinctive eye—meddled with a palette for beauty, rhythm, sophistication, and an infatuation for raw, emotional work—led her to pursue her passions in interior design.
