Out of nearly 800 submissions, we’re excited to announce that our project, Hotel June, was named a finalist in the New Brand Launch category for the 17th annual Hospitality Design Awards! Congrats to Proper Hospitality, Playa Proper JV, LLC, the June Hotel, and the entire project team on this recognition.

Kollin Altomare was challenged to reimagine the original 250-room mid-century structure on Los Angeles’ Westside, while preserving the work of legendary LA architect Welton Beckett. Airy and cozy, the lifestyle hotel features spacious, modern rooms and suites with sweeping city and coastal views. The design blends clean lines with light and warm natural woods, local art, handmade tiles, and custom furnishings.

Winners will be revealed and all finalists will be celebrated at the annual HD Awards celebration in New York on  September 21, 2021 at Cipriani South Street hotel. This year’s projects span 27 categories, including Visual Identity, Hybrid Spaces, Camps + Lodges, as well as the newly added New Brand Launch, which honors hospitality concepts that have at least one location opened within HD’s timeframe and have one or more in the works.
