Boats n’ Barks Pawty
Live Love Animal Rescue Fundraiser
October 15, 2019
We attended the Boats n’ Barks gala and silent auction at the Boathouse on the Bay in Long Beach - an amazing fundraising event to support Live Love Animal Rescue efforts. Themed “Longing to Belong” the event was sponsored by the Karen T. Hilburn Foundation and was truly a special evening with delicious food, champagne toasts, Duffy boat rides, and heartwarming rescue stories. Live Love’s mission is to save homeless animals by providing them a lifelong commitment to their well-being and to create a community where every homeless dog has a place to belong.
To show our support, Paul and Raquel Altomare (pictured at top) participated in the silent auction receiving winning bids for three items which will be donated to our staff. Special thanks to Live Love’s founder/director Emily Ann Peters and VP and adoptions coordinator Lisa Darcy, who were elated to report that the Boats n’ Barks event turned out to be the most successful in Live Love’s history!
The organization’s efforts have helped save 82+ dogs this year, exceeding the target of 54 dogs. Keep an eye out for the full story in the November issue of Los Alamitos Bay magazine, and see the event video here:

We also recently had the pleasure of helping Live Love Animal Rescue reach their goal of raising $25,000 to launch their first dog adoption center in Long Beach, CA. The new space will help to grow the rescue family by preparing more dogs for adoption and arranging more meetings between adopters and their new furry family members. We look forward to participating in future Live Love support efforts!
