October 8, 2019
We are pleased to be working with Fortress Investment Group on the highly anticipated return of the Frenchman's Reef, to include two luxury resorts: The Westin Beach Resort & Spa (formerly known as the Frenchman's Reef Marriott Resort & Spa), and a new adjacent resort under Marriott's Autograph Collection, Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort at Frenchman's Reef, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Kollin Altomare is the architect of record, leading the design team including The Johnson Studio, culinary and public space concepts from Sixteenfifty Creative Intelligence, and Whitespace Interiors on the $425 million re-envisioned resort complex on the Caribbean Sea.

The Westin Beach Resort & Spa, dramatically situated atop a harborside cliff with panoramic ocean views, will boast 384 guestrooms, including 28 spacious suites, three resort pools including an infinity-edge pool with swim-up pool bar, a state-of-the-art luxury wellness spa, and 85,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. The resort will provide several distinctive dining experiences, including new restaurant concepts by critically acclaimed Chef and Global Restaurateur, Richard Sandoval.

The Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort, the first Autograph Collection hotel in the U.S. Virgin Islands, is comprised of a series of intimate beach house style villas containing 94 guestrooms, including two honeymoon suites, all nestled directly on the beach. Buoy Haus will also boast a private, beachfront infinity-edge pool with swim-up bar, 3,000 square-foot beachfront ballroom, and multiple dining experiences with 180-degree panorama views of the Caribbean Sea.

"We're thrilled to be involved in making our client's vision a reality--by restoring this iconic Caribbean property and crafting a brand-new island experience for travelers," stated president & CEO Michael Kollin.
