27th Annual Lodging Conference
JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge
September 22, 2022
It was great to gather with industry leaders and professionals at this year's Lodging Conference in Phoenix to discuss hospitality trends, share new ideas, and network with industry executives, partners and friends. A sold out event, the Lodging Conference is one of the leading hotel industry events in the world, with a record 2,500+ in attendance this year. Our Michael Dalezman, Principal and Steven Harrell, Design Lead were in attendance and shared these key takeaways:

**FORECASTS: The Hospitality Industry is strong despite labor and cost difficulties. Significant dollars are still on the sidelines which could mean a robust 2023 and beyond. Inflation and inflation response could slow momentum, but the future should result in net growth.

**DESIGN TRENDS: Rooftops and found space are still opportunities but not panacea. Look for more purposeful, curated guestrooms. Designs using natural and sustainable materials. Focused design POV instead of “by committee.” Continue wellness for the guest experience but also review staff focused wellness for recruitment and retention.

Special thanks to Harry Javer, Founder & Producer, The Lodging Conference President, The Conference Bureau
