You’re organized. Super detail oriented. And not only have a great way of communicating with people, you like doing it. As a licensed architect or someone pursuing your license, you’ve spent the last 10 years turning great ideas into all kinds of great hospitality and commercial spaces. But your current firm doesn’t quite feel like home. Our growing Long Beach office might just be the place for you. And you might just be the new Project Manager we’re looking for.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Planning, interpreting, organizing, and managing projects through all phases of development
  • Establishing and monitoring budgets, managing project team and preparing schedules to ensure efficient utilization of resources
  • Ensuring project conforms to contractual agreement with client
  • Effectively managing consultants and other construction trades, as well as governmental agencies
  • Effectively managing project budget to ensure profitability
  • Effectively managing project to ensure completion within allocated time period
  • Maintaining ongoing, positive and productive client relationships
  • Ensuring project needs are satisfied through efficient use of resources
  • Effectively and proactively coaching, mentoring and providing performance enhancing feedback to team members
  • Implementing processes to reduce risk and exposure in all areas of each project
  • Directing all construction administration activities, including scheduling, shop drawings process, field observations, reports, change orders and pay requests
  • Ensuring efficiency, quality assurance and code compliance on all construction administration activities
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A professional degree in architecture with 10 years of Hospitality / Commercial Project Manager experience
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, MS Office, CSI Specifications, project and construction administration
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state and national U.S. Building/Code requirements/ regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative, team-player approach
  • High professional standards and aspirations
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US mandatory

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

No ship reaches its destination without a smart, experienced captain leading the crew. Same goes for architecture projects. You know that — you’ve been a damn good one for the last five years. Equal parts translator, mediator, organizer and creator, you’re exactly the type of Job Captain we’re looking to add to our crew. Three must-haves: A professional architecture degree, five years’ experience in Hospitality / Commercial design, and a high-susceptibility to having fun.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Working under the direction of the Principal and Project Managers
  • Assisting in development and coordinating technical documents and architectural drawings during all phases of projects
  • Developing and coordinating project drawings and specifications, including: program compliance, code and agency compliance, schedule commitments and product research
  • Directing the drafting team through the production of construction documents
  • Assisting with construction administration during the implementation of projects
  • Facilitating a productive, innovative and collaborative work environment, while providing advice, direction, coaching and mentoring to drafting staff
  • Providing support to accounting department for monthly billing, reviewing timesheets and accurately reporting time/billing hours

But more important, you’re happy to follow the direction of senior designers, helping the team prepare design and constructions documents — or any and everything else they ask you to do on basic phases of projects. Because, hey, there’s no better place to learn than in the trenches with seasoned pros, and your brain-sponge is primed to soak up every drop of knowledge in a three-workstation radius. Three must-haves: A professional architecture degree, no more than three years of architectural experience, and a high-susceptibility to having fun.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Performing routine architectural drafting and design duties
  • Researching and compiling data as required by the project
  • Correcting and updating drawings
  • Copying design sketches and layouts prepared by others
